It is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in society today.
No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be.
Isaac Asimov

Life is filled with countless episodes of change. When we mature and age, when we move from one stage of education to the next, when we leave home, when we get married and have children, when we change jobs, when we move house or relocate, when we become ill and recover, when we lose a loved one, and when we die.
All of these changes and countless others are very much an inevitable part of our lives. Managing, coping with and adapting to change is just something we constantly do. And yet most people fear change and attempt to avoid it.
Change always requires us to adapt to new circumstances. All changes, even those that we desire, initiate and dream about, require an adjustment period. And it’s the process of adjusting to new situations that taxes us, both physically and emotionally. Adaptation can be both painful and stressful.
Usually, however, once we have gone through the process of adjusting to a new situation, we come out at the other end stronger, wiser and more mature, and we realise that we have learned something new, and that this change has given us new coping skills and new perspectives about life and about ourselves, and led to growth in our repertoire of behaviours.
And yet, as the famous saying goes: “Change is inevitable. Progress is optional.” The question is: how to turn the CHALLENGE OF CHANGE that life presents us, into a opportunities for learning and personal growth.
The capacity to initiate transitions, and cope well with transformations is at the heart of my research and training, and I invite you to explore the different aspects of the PSYCHOLOGY OF CHANGE and the SCIENCE OF MANAGING CHANGE, through this website.
